Adding a Touch of Fall to Your Home Decor
Fall, Autumn, Harvest Time Decor for the Home
Fall is a gorgeous time of year. It seems short, but you can still add a touch of fall to your home decor easily and inexpensively.
I love adding the autumnal colors to my decor in the fall. They bring warmth and depth to any room in the home. Leaves, gourds, pumpkins, wreaths, sunflowers, corn and signs are just a few of the items you can use to add to create a touch of Harvest Time to your home.
Below are some of the small decor touches my mom uses in her home come fall. Do you have a favorite?

One of the very first thing mom likes to do is add some fall leaves garland to her hanging mirrors. It's quick, easy and definitely adds to the season.

Autumnal Colors
Traditional fall colors are from the warm side of the color wheel -- Reds/Oranges, Yellows/Golds, Browns/Tans. Warm metallics like gold, bronze and copper are also considered autumnal colors.
Fall Decorations on the Coffee Table
My mom's coffee table is very special to her. It's actually a kitchen table her parents had while she was growing up. As the years went by, my grandmother decided to cut down the pedestal and make it a coffee table they could enjoy instead.
My mom inherited this coffee table and loves to make small vignettes that reflects the current season. In the fall, she usually uses a small ceramic pumpkin, a metal pumpkin shape and then adds her favorite flip album of her grandkids.

More Autumn Colors
In addition to those traditional autumn colors listed above, you can always add black.
Greens and blues work as well even though they are considered cool colors on the color wheel. Think of the sky and grass -- all those colors mix and give off an overall warm feel.
Fireplace Niche Fall Decorations
This is a little niche in mom's fireplace wall. It was the perfect spot to add another fall garland and some figurines. The pumpkins are cute and the little "thanks" metal sign in the middle reminds us to give thanks for all we have. I just love this little area!
